Fast vessels
High power ranges, high propeller and jet speeds and light weight materials offer the opportunity to naval architects to design fast vessels.
The special reverse reduction gearboxes and plain reduction gearboxes which are supplied by ADS van STIGT for this application, find their origin in the light weight programme of ZF Marine. This programme that can be identified through its favourable kW/weight ratio and its wide choice of - mostly - low reduction gear ratios, covers a power range of 50 – 10.000 kW.
Altogether these features make the ZF Marine line of light weight transmissions the ideal choice to be included in the propulsion lines of any military, commercial or private yacht, or powerboat application.
New developments have meanwhile led to the development of special reduction gear units for combination with gas turbines.
The producing factories for these products can be found in Friedrichshafen (for the high powers) Padova (for the specials and the middle segment) and Arco (for lower powers). |
