Monitoring systems
Oil mist detectors (OMD`s) form an important part of electronic monitoring systems. The OMD gives a warning signal and / or engine shut-down whenever the risk of explosion occurs due to rising oil mist concentration in the crankcase of large bore low speed and medium speed diesel engines. The detector may also reduce or prevent damage to other engine parts such as the crankshaft. |
